About Ruben F. Arizmendi

Ruben F. Arizmendi is the founder and principal attorney of Arizmendi Law Firm, a practice he established in 1990 with the mission of providing compassionate and honest legal counsel. For over 34 years, Ruben has dedicated his career to helping individuals and families navigate complex legal matters with transparency and integrity. His practice focuses on key areas of law, including asset protection, bankruptcy, business law, and estate planning.

A distinguished legal career

Ruben earned his Juris Doctor from Thomas Jefferson School of Law and holds a B.A. in Political Science from San Diego State University. His commitment to the legal profession is reflected in the numerous leadership roles he has held over his career. He has served as president of the California Interpreters Association, the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association, and the California La Raza Lawyers Association. He also served as president of the Alumni Association of Thomas Jefferson School of Law. His involvement extends to key legal organizations such as the American Bar Association, the San Diego County Bar Association (including its Diversity Committee), and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.

A commitment to community and justice

Beyond his legal practice, Ruben is a passionate advocate for environmental and social justice. He has served as the Chair of Sierra Club San Diego and was a member of the Executive Committee of Sierra Club California, driven by his commitment to protecting the environment for future generations.

Ruben's dedication to public service and education is also a cornerstone of his career. He has a history of pro bono work and has been recognized for his contributions to the community. As an educator, he has shared his expertise by teaching at Southwestern College and teaching Spanish for Lawyers at Thomas Jefferson School of Law. A highlight of his public service came during the 2008 housing crisis when he delivered numerous lectures across county libraries, helping many families save their homes.
